Comment on Jesus was a rich man, la de da de da … by Steve Benkin

Thank you for responding to my post.

Actually, I have spent over 30 years studying and teaching the Bible.

The problem with discussing it is that, quite frankly, it has multiple conflicting views of people and events. Yes, there are indications that Jesus was a poor carpenter. That is what has become the basis for the traditional image that we have today.

You can also look at the Bible and come to a very different interpretation. That is true with almost any passage or any story. That's why so many schisms have been created over the last 2000 years.

My point of the post is to show there is evidence - if one wants to look at - for a very different view of Jesus.

Of course, we will never know 'the truth' about any of this. Jesus never wrote down one word. All we can do is read writings from people (many who were not even his disciples) that have been tampered with throughout time, and conflict with one another.

Each New Testament writer had their own agenda for writing their stories about Jesus. Matthew had his. John had his. Paul certainly had his.

Was Jesus a poor man?

Could be.

Was Jesus a rich man?

All I am saying is....

Could be.

And that is the image that I choose to believe and wrote the post for others to think about.

I do not believe God wants us to be poor, nor do I believe that poverty is a virtue. I find those to be extremely harmful and limiting beliefs that I discarded years ago. I certainly understand most people (Christians and others) feel differently. I respect that. It is just not my view of how the Divine works.

Peace..

This is some really wonky exegesis offered here. Jesus did NOT own a home - check out Luke 9:58 "And Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.""

He went to his death penniless, his tomb was a borrowed one, his followers all abandoned him, and he was even stripped of the clothes off his back in order to be beaten and crucified.

Spend a little more time in the Bible, my friend.

Lee,
Absolutely! I am not trying to get into all aspects of memory recognition in this simple post, but yes - memories are not just cerebral entities. The body remembers them, and so does the soul.

My point was the importance of being cognizant of what we are exposed to, because they will not only affect our memories, but our philosophy of life.

Great comments!!

Memories are not stored in the brain. They are merely anchored in the body, and are stored in the soul field around the body. What you experienced, I do with clients all the time. The memories are stored in the field all the way back to conception and easy to read.

Not only easy to read. But I have a person close their eyes, and when I walk back 15 feet and touch their memories in the soul field, it often knocks them off their feet.

Maggie,
It was a PLEASURE to work with Marcy! It seems that she knew what she was meant to do since she was little!

That is so AWESOME! I am sure you are very proud of her!

Glad you liked the show and my analogy..

Steve

Hi there! I am Marcy's mama and attended the Sunday matinee. Needless to say, I am so proud of my daughter and her God-given talent. She has been working in theatre since she was 8 years old. She was always able to do this, I called it a blessing, for sure. The show was stunning, and to know you had a hand in making it a reality, thank you, too! I enjoyed reading your analogy of the universe and God's hand in things. That is something to ponder. You blog is very interesting and enjoyable to read. I will be a fan from now on. Maggie
